Levantine

Sinds haar debuut CD ‘ Guitar Music of South-America’ hoort ze tot de top van de interpretatoren van de Spaanse gitaar. Haar CD ‘Levantine" presenteert een hele nieuw richting van haar brede oeuvre. Ze toont haar liefde voor het eigentijdse gitaar-oeuvre en interpreteert werken die speciaal voor haar geschreven zijn zowel als wereld-premières en presenteert een repertoire dat binnen het laatste decennium geschreven werd voor de gitaar.’Levantine’ is een prachtige reis door de magische wereld van de moderne Spaanse gitaar, ingespeeld door een gitariste met pioniersbloed waarbij technische problemen kennelijk niet aan de orde zijn. Neo-romantische arpeggio’s , ostinato’s zoals gespeeld op een piano, etnische sonoriteit, a-symmetrische ritmes, minimalistisch en popachtige uitstapjes, alle muzikale wegen staan voor Nathasja van Rosse open.

Everything on this lovely recording is shaped and phrased so, so
beautifully, the overall sound and various tonal colors again are so
beautiful - rich and powerful when needed, delicate and sparkly and every
thing in between. But of course I am not really surprised by this because I
know the artist and have always known that she is a musician's musician -
still so rare on the classical guitar.
Except for Andrew York's exuberant piece, I was not familiar with any of
these works. So I found it so beautiful and special to be taken by the hand
so to speak and personally guided through this wonderful sonic landscape for
the first time - everything so fresh, so lovingly presented with such
sincere conviction.
